David dances always and everywhere! He is working on himself so that he can continue to pass on what he loves so much. Lindy Hop.
Since this year she is a new member of our lecturing team. But you have seen him in various competitions or performances at our festivals and summer camp.
How did you come to swing?
A long time ago I saw a video of Linda Strictly’s ILHC 2013 Invitational and loved it. A few years later I was asked by Annie Dee-Dee if I wanted to start swing dancing. To which I replied that I didn’t swing, that there was only one dance I liked that I saw on video. “Wasn’t that Lindy Hop?” “Yes, it was!” Well, here I am now.
Your favourite dance figure?
It’s a swingout from the figures, but I usually try to do as much crap as possible.
Who do you like to teach and why?
Myself, because I still have a lot to learn.
Your dance inspiration?
Štěpán Jordánek, because he’s going and he’s very modest. Terka Veselá, because she’s going and she’s very modest.
When I was supposed to start taking Lindy Hop lessons, my excuse and obstacle was that the first lesson had already taken place and I would be behind and not catch up. Luckily, I was talked into it. Now I practically live by swing. You don’t know until you try.
